In 2024, Mr. Gu was driving when he noticed a truck catching fire on the road. At that time, the traffic light was red, so the vehicle came to a stop. But the driver didn’t notice this matter. Mr. Gu immediately pulled over his Tesla by the roadside and then quickly put out the fire with a fire extinguisher. However, since this vehicle was carrying dangerous goods, traditional fire extinguishers did not play a very good role. So Mr. Gu quickly contacted the fire brigade and guided them to the fire site. Fortunately, the fire brigade was very close to the burning truck. Ten minutes later, both the fire engine and the ambulance arrived at the scene. The truck driver safely evacuated and the vehicle was prevented from being destroyed.
On November 1, 2025, the mayor of Wuxi City and the director of the Public Security Bureau presented this award to Mr. Gu, expressing their gratitude for his stepping forward in times of crisis.
